Hi guys

A bit of a dry spell in posting. not much progression in terms of things to say since Christmas. Plenty team stuff but im going to wait till i have my bike to tell you all that. everything is on www.stevepeatsyndicate.com any way if you want a look-as well as my mini interview on the 'team' tab.

Been building my new 20" up and making my hard tail as more of a xc bike that jump/ 4x type. Should finish bleeding the brakes to nite and can then bed them in on some hill.

I'm looking at making a few diary type videos over the year so I can look back on my first year racing downhill. I have a bit of footage and I'm off all next week so more training and riding footage to add to it.

Nothing more to say really i will get some pics of my new bmx and how the hard tail is looking during the week.

Hope you all had a good Christmas and have something good planned for tonight. i had a good week off and was back in work this morning. Followed by a full cross fit gym session at 10am.

SPS Get Together

The first get together for the 2012 Steve Peat Syndicate Team got together this week for some activities and a general chill out to give the new riders a chance to know the other team members and learn a bit about whats to come.

We was all meeting in Steve's hometown in Sheffield at the Harlem University where Steve does all of this strength and conditioning. We had a talk for a couple of hours, got a few clothes and handouts and then headed over to the 'lab' where we did some tests to see what our body composition and outputs where like.

After that we headed over to the famous Dave's gym he gave us a good beasting and we then after a motivational speech had some lunch. We where all ready for some bike time then and went up to Steve's local woods and went for a quick xc ride before heading to the hotel for a meal and a bit of bowling-where i was cheated for the win by TM Tristan 'team player'. We met back at the woods for some down hill action on the Saturday morning before having a can of monster and driving over snakes pass back to sunny pie land.

Overall it was a wicked weekend which i really enjoyed I'm looking forward to the season ahead and feel that I have met some cool people in the SPS family. A big thanks to Tristan, Steve and everyone who made it happen.

Heading In The Right Direction

Christmas next week and then the new year to follow. I think my new years resolution will be to keep this place tidy and in order so i think I'm heading the the right direction by adding another post.

However I'm not adding a post for the fun of it i do have some news worth shouting about. As any of you who do read the blog I have been racing bmx for a few years and its been my focus in terms of riding, training and my lifestyle-2012 will be slightly different however...

Next year will see me heading in the right direction in terms of my dream and passion. Yes you got it (anyone who knows me will have anyway). For the 2012 season I will be racing downhill mountain bikes, although I will still be riding and racing bmx my focus will be on the downhill mtb nationals starting spring time. I won't be riding on my own though as from the end of this year I will be leaving Team Love Not Money and riding for the Steve Peat Syndicate Downhill Mountain Bike Team.

Team Love Not Money Has Been a really positive team to be on for the last two years and i would not be the rider I am now without the support of the team and sponsors. I would just like to thank everyone from the past couple years who I have had the pleasure of being with on LNM. I would particularly like to thank TM James 'Rooster' Tresman for all the support and guidance. Its a different discipline, team, bike and challenge that I know I am ready for and really looking forward to. Being part of the SPS was an offer i could not refuse. Team LNM has been nothing but positive for me so I wanted to show my thanks.

Hey people and fellow bloggers, I am keeping you up to date as I promised and there is no news that I can tell you to be honest. I will hopefully have some news and my plans for 2012 before the new year but at the moment I'm keeping you in the dark :-)
I had a great birthday even getting my first tattoo. I get it finished on Monday, I will be sure to put some photos up when its done. All I will say is its not to everyones taste but it shows my roots.

I have been spending the last few weeks hitting the gym hard with my trainer Jamie Cook, Working on a structured program to gain strength and power for the coming season. As I
Iie here in bed with the hailstone hitting the window its a good sign that winter has set in and the festive season is not far away-in fact just around the corner. I like to use Christmas as a real time to spend with family and friends and that's what I plan on doing in the next few weeks. Manchester Christmas shopping in the morning and a chill out weekend.

Once again the season has come to an end after the british Championships this weekend. I would like to thank everyone who has suported me through the 2011 season. this year has not been like any other year that I have raced bmx and it has been a lot harder than I had expected-moving onto the 20" wheels.

I did not do all of the regional and national rounds and have been up and down all year with performace and my focus on the sport. i have however turned a new leaf in making 2012 my best year yet. I stuck with the 17-24 class and will do for 2012 and want to secure my place at the world championships in birmingham.

Nationals Start!!

Sure they started but not as I hoped....

Jo drove down to the first national at Peterborough which was a real cool track with a super tech 3rd and 4th straight (which I think everyone apart from Bloomy binned it on). I enjoyed practice Friday and Saturday morning but got really sick really quick and threw up just before my first moto. Well that was the story for the day. I did all my motos and qtr where I got a 6th. i took an early bed after managing to keep a stodgy macis down.

Sunday was a bit better I felt fit but really weak and still not 100% I was lacking that bit of energy all day and only really ate at breakfast. I got motod, with them droping around 16 riders for semi-finals. I really enjoyed my first national weekend of 2011 however. Riding my new bike in a new class meeting new riders and reping new sponsors. a big thanks to everyone involved. I take a big break from racing now as I am not going to rounds 3&4. I should hopefully have transport sometime this week and I can really get out on my bike and enjoy the British summer.

Ok heres the heads up with what I have been up to and a real focus now on the 2011 season, as the first national is only a few weeks away and my first race of the year, season and on my new bike is this weekend at the fernville track in Leeds for the first round of the UCI Monster Energy North Regional series, sponsored by Swatch-Ok that's not all completely true but it does sound good

I would like to take this opportunity to confirm that i will once again be riding for Team Love Not Money in the 20" 17-24 category at nationals and Pro category at regionals (was payback). The team has some wicked sponsors this year, we will all be riding One bicycles and wearing Oneal clothing and protection as well as our custom designed Jerseys by RSD Sports straight out of Wigan. I am also continuing my relationship with Muc-off and i would like to thank all the guys at the brand who have been a great help and support in 2010 and look forward to 2011. Finally I will also be riding the Maxxis tyres and in particular the DTH which I love so much.

I look forward to a competitive 2011 riding for Love Not Money and alongside Shawn Issit in the stacked 20" classes. I would like to thank Mr Tresman and love Not Money for giving me a place on the team for 2011 and I can't wait to 'rip it up' on the track.

Yesterday was the first time the whole new 2011 team was together. We where at a photo shoot in Bolton at Rick schofields studio. Rick did the photos from last years shoot that you can see on LoveNotMoney.net. I took a few photos myself which are below. We was all presented with our new 2011 RSD Sports Jerseys and The big daddy number plates. These came in a groovy LNM Kit Bag. I am hoping to get the rest of my kit before the first national and I will put some pics of them up when I get them.

Well the rumours are true, i was seen on a 20". The truth is I have been on my cawzer once since the Brits and have just finish building my One, which all off the Love Not Money team will be riding for 2011. I'm just getting back into it and love my new bike. I built it up Thursday and have made this video to show it off. More news will be coming soon as the season fast approaches. I will be also doing a lot of thing with PieBikes.co.uk as is another website I am really involved with. Hope you like the steed. helloo everyone. Well its less than 100 days now till the nationals start. I have a few things flying around my head at the moment regarding the website. In 2011 I want to try and create more of a comunity with matthewglynn.co.uk. this may start with a new name, apperance and format. What I do no is that I will be doing some reviews and tutorials. These may be both by video or just images. I would like to create a site more like the ride nation that rich has been doing. It will be slow but Im on the first step of the ladder so watch this space :-)

Well its been a long year and I can say that it is officially over. The club champs was last weekend, whee i raced my new 20inch intense. I was real sketch on it but got all 3rds in my motos and 5th in the final (after a real bad gate) to be onest there gate was rubbish all day-really slow. Anyhoo some time off now and cold weather to come. I will put up some pics when i get them and will get a few of my new bike. :-)

Brits 2010

A bit late I know but there isn't any really news to write about the brits. Basically I took a big slam at coppull about a week before. I over jumped the third double, I hit it super fast first run round and not realising it was windy as ken I uncliped my left foot but landed on the side of my head and my left side took the grunt off it. I was well out of breath for a bit but felt OK after about ten Min's and just pottered about on the last straight with Jo. Yea Jo she went on my recently built 20inch and had a bash on the last straight. She rode mint and I was real proud of her efforts.

Monday came and i was real sore and only rode my bike once after that before the brits because I was to sore. I turned up on the Friday nite practice and took no pain killers to see how it was. I think I did about four laps and did I was sore but I thort I would be fine. I didn't jump anything and just binned it off to save myself for racing.
Saturday Practice came I put my headphones on and just did what i needed to do. I jumped everything apart from the last to on the 3rd straight, my gates where good and I had loads of painkillers and felt good for racing.
Racing was real fun we had some elite guys and I missed out on semis buy like 1 or 2 points. All the motos where down to the line and really close. I was just unlucky really.
We hit the bar and had a good nite.

Yes I Know very late update. Lots has happened since Leeds. i will start with Bournemouth national. Saturday went well results wise I made the main after not making a main on a Saturday all year. think I got a 7Th looking back. Sunday was real close in points in the top 8. Ryan had already rapped up the title which he well deserved. The rest of us where fighting out for places. I came into the final knowing I was to eight there was know one who could overtake me in points. Tom was in seventh and I thought if I had a good final I could overtake him as he was injured and not racing.

The final was kayos i was about 5Th out of the first corner. Maddox crashed at the front of the pack and everyone went down. I rode into the back of smiley and he hurt his ankle pretty bad Oliver ran into the back of me and the two guys at the back took 1st and second. The rest of us slowly got up and tyred to get to the line. I came over the line in 5Th which equalled my best result at nationals where i got 5Th at Manchester.

I was about 10 points off getting the 7 plate again . I got National number 8 which i was pleased with considering the riders in the class this year.

What Up. Yes well Leeds regional yesterday and after taking the win in every race I won the series and got the 1.4 plate for the brits. Love not money took home 3 1.4's. Track was cool and weather was mint. I really enjoyed the day and even rode for a bit after racing which i never do. Chris Boyle has snapped a few pics of me so I have put them up.

Bob field grands this week and and Stephen Murry is coming over which should be great. Another top rider went down with a slam last week and also injured there neck, I was another moment to realise the dangers of riding and racing bikes and how lucky we are.

Dan Atherton will be back riding after Christmas but after breaking his C1Vertebrae he is lucky to be alive. Dan is one of my favorite riders and I have looked up to him for years. I wish him a quality recovery and all the best to the Athertons, You will get through it.

Gosport National RDS 9+10

Gosport is a new track and one that didn't suit me very well. I wont the B on the Saturday and got a 7th in the main Sunday. Gosport is about 10 miles from Portsmouth so it was a bit of a drive down. the hotel was rad with costa coffee both mornings and places to eat on the door step.

This month is one of the busiest for racing with a race every weekend, leeds is on Sunday where the summer regionals rap up and we can look forward to the brits. congrats to the team for a good weekend clucas 2nd and matty making a main, Nice one boys.

Bradford Regional

Bradford wasn't really a track I was looking forward to. I was missing the British Grand Pirx weather was gash and it was my first weekend off for ages. However I Won all off the motos and the final, even got a Starbucks on the way home. rooster had LNM tees for sale in our own LNM gazebo. It was a bit of a downer after racing Manchester national. I won't lie to you guys who weren't there the track was gash. No transitions on anything a pro set you can pump through faster and the berms, well I will say no more. I wont be going again put it that way.

I have qualified for the Brits now so no need to do anymore. I'm away in Somerset for mid lancs and I am off work when Leeds is on so I will probs go there because the track is fer rad. Thanks to Boiley for the pic. I'm tagged in some more on my facebook page.

Manchester National

Manchester is my home track and one of my favorite tracks to ride. I went down everyday from Thursday helping get the event sauted. With it being my home track You would expect that I would breeze through motos and semis. Well Saturday was a bit disappointing as is was straight A and B Final. I won the B final and was looking at making the A for sure on Sunday. I did and got a 5th which is my best ever result at a National. Clucas had a bad crash Saturday and we thought he was out for good but jumped back on his rig after about half hour, made the main both days and got a 3rd and 2nd on the Sunday.

Manchester Regional

Lots of things going on since Braintree. World Cup, Wimbledon, F1, Touring cars. The most Important being Manchester regional. I worked in the morning so was a bit tired, it was a hot day again and I won 2 out of the 3 motos. Wan came over and suto from the midlands. It was good to actually get a race in 17-29 and I got a 2nd in the final behind josh. The National is next week so I will be down during the week helping with the track and organisation. Gold Coast tomorrow and I'm working in the morning so I will be shattered again. Its all good thought-means I get next weekend off for the National. I will get some pics up when i get some. Braintree Nationals RDs 5+6

After not really spending much time at the track I was looking forward to going to a new one. The gate and first 10meters where ace one of the best I have been on. I got bits of each straight right at different times. I was only Sunday morning where I felt everything came together a bit more. Saturday was one of my worst results I finished with a 3rd in the B-final. Sunday however I had a mint semi final after a year of 5th places I got a 4th and then went on to get 6th place in the A-Final. My best place finish in a National to date. Manchester National is next which is my club track. Although it won't be an easy one. Manchester is a real killer of a track and only riders with some good fitness will do well. With the class being as hard as it is this year I will really have to get my finger out to make a final. Couple of pics the top one is from the semi and the bottom one is from the final. some lad with ridicules jeans won both days don't know who he is, never seen him before. Lets hope if he does anymore rounds he leaves the tight pants at home.

Flow On

With two weeks of no racing I have had to find something to do. I went for a ride down to Waterworks. Some local trails I haven't been down to for about 12 months. I have spent the past two weeks down there nearly everyday brushing the tons of dust/sand and watering the lips. There still a bit sketchy but real good for a pottering about, most of the gaps are way small and no real steep lips but over winter I think i will spend some time helping the kids out and making them better.

I have only been to a track twice in the two weeks Just digging and riding trails. Its been fun and good to take some time off from sprinting round the track and just get my flow on. Braintree National this weekend which I'm looking forward to, a new track and place I haven't visited yet. Nothing else really to say but apart from I hope the weather stays good and a good result at braintree. Cya there.

Preston Regional RD 3+ Love Not Money!!

I have never been on a team and love not money is great I know all the riders on the team and we ride together regularly anyway. we had a mint day at Preston 1+2 in Payback with Joe riding mint!! Ross wining and Sutty riding mint until he uncliped in the final. And me...
I won, I got all moto wins and just lost out in the final but it was grand prix so i took the overall which was cool. I was racing with peebs which was cool. He had his bike nicked and was on a built up crowzer, I tried to persuade him to race cruiser all the time but he weren't having it.

Derby National RDs 3+4

Four rounds done and two National weekends already finished. I hope this summer goes slow so we can enjoy it a bit more. First of all it has to be said that Derby is a long track and I was defiantly feeling it on the Sunday. I did better than the national last year I won the B-final Sat and came 3rd in the B on the Sunday. I was stoked to win the B but would have liked to make the A final. this Semi final business is really hacking me off as last year we had straight A and B. the class has defo steped up with the Bauer brothers super quick an the the tallest Cruiser rider I have eve seen in the name of Pete Warner.

stopping in hotels is ace less fafing with camping gear and you get a filter coffee every morning-suits me. Preston regional this weekend and the two weeks of no racing before Braintree national. I'm really looking forward to going to a new track. Theres two this season that I haven't been to before, Braintree and Gosport. Its always mint riding new spots, racing on them Im not to sure but I liked Burnham last year so I will see how it goes. Derby Regional

After spending all Friday and most of Saturday in bed ill I crawled into Suttys vito and headed to Derby for there midlands regional. Peebs and Louise jumped in with us and we pick up the one and only 'Rooster' up on the way.

The track was in mint condition and the new changes just made it feel really nice to ride. Sure its a leg burner but it was a lot more fun to ride and the ever constant wind doesn't really affect you as much. There where a record 12 riders in 17-29 which was mint for me, I'm usually the only one up North. I had a 3rd, 2nd and a 1st in my motos which only kicked off about half one. I got to ride with my other Royal kit which is the grey and white race kit-pants this time. These where real smart really warm like they usually are but these are less baggy and are real light.

After the motos I was feeling real ruff doing three fast laps on a long track after not really being fit to ride. We left after the motos as the semi sheets where only posted about half 5. It was good to ride the track and get on my bike after the bad week. Again I'm looking forward to the national its not to far away and me and Jo are in a hotel whoop whoop. Not to sure who took the pic but thanks.

Nationals 2010 RDS 1+2 Cheddar

I have just had a crazy week, with it ending yesterday with me in bed all day with a bad cold and a temperature.

Friday 23rd: Me an Jo headed off to Cheddar for the first to rounds of the 2010 National series. I felt good coming to cheddar but as soon as i did practice i was reminded how this track really doesn't suit me. My third lap round i looped the bike and got some major grazing on my left side.

Saturday: I did practice Saturday and didn't really feel that great, with loads of quick riders and quite a poor show from me i got like a 6th in the B-final.

Sunday: I had a good sleep and felt fresh in practice I managed to get smoother laps in. The weather looked pretty gash all day which did affect a few people. I managed my best results to date with two 2nds and a 3rd in my motos. I was just took for 4th in my semi and came away with a second in the b-final. A hard weekend had by all with a lot of new faces and quick riders. The class this year will be very tight with a lot of last years riders trying to retain there ranking. we set off home after racing and got in about 10.

Monday: I was up at 5 for work and didn't feel to sore. at about 5ish i got the Virgin Train to London for an interview with David Cameron. It was the second time i have been down and it was all thanks to Radio 1. I spent the Monday nite there and came home Tuesday Afternoon. It was a good experience even though we only had half an hour with him it relay gave me an in site to there party. There is more on the newsbeat pages of radio 1.

Friday: i felt a bit crappy on Thursday nite so i went to bed early but when i had a real bad nites sleep and spent all Friday in bed ill.

I do feel a bit better today and hopefully i can go derby tomorrow for the regional.

First Time Out

Hey people, Its my Mums Birthday today so having a few beers and a barbeque. I went to Preston for a bit this morning but my first time out on my new set up and kit was on Thursday at Manchester Gates. Abi took some shots of me as you can see. Crewe Regional

First Summer Regional was last weekend at Crewe. The track was real fast and looking mint. the track has necer really suited me, every time I try jumping somthing i Just go up. Elite Men was off the hook and awsome to watch. I was the only rider in my class so I reaced in 17-24 I think it now is. It was good fun and I really enjoyed it. Reeto, nothing major happened this week, got all the parts for my orange ordered, rained a lot and went to the new Chester pump track. new song of the week is really stuck in my head, there is an acoustic version on YouTube which is better. check out www.theridenation.com for some rad bmx/riding stuff. Working tomorrow and hopefully get my Orange parts in a few days. A full spec and pics will be up when I'm done. Hartlepool Regional

I went up to hpool in suttys van and had a mint day i got a win in my first moto and a second in my second. I came second in the final after just scraping through in the semi.

I got a 5th in the final at Leeds, its been really good racing 16+ this winter there have been more riders and it ment i got to do semi's which i would never get to do in 16-29. Been busy training and as the season at work is starting its only going to get more busy there. Im also going to give the site a revamp and change the colours and stuff make it a bit different. Hey people, not posted for a while. Well the reason is I havent really had anything to post about. I have been getting stuck into my wnter training. I have been off work this week and will be off next week to. It has rained all week, got to Manchester gates last night though. I have been busy on my car and spent a good 8 hours Monday to Thursday on it. Took my sub out and fitted four new speakers and door cards. Bike fits in wicked now, no messing around.

I am going to do my first Uk race of 2010 on Sunday 'Manchester Winter Regional'. manchester is my home track and i always have a good time racing and riding there. Going to get on my bike next week now i have my car sorted just can't wait for the Nationals and the better weather. few pics of my car to.

Belgium European Indoor

Well where do i start. I got back from Belgium at 5:00 this morning and went straight to bed got up at around 2:30. feeling ready for bed again now after busy weekend but it was well worth it. I made the semi on sat and got 6th which i was real pleased with. For my first euro it really opened my eyes to the speed and level of racing i need to be at. just racing in Europe and wearing a GB jersey is a dream of mine. I look back to when i was about 12 and dreamed of racing my bike over the UK and Europe i never thought i would get this far. And trust me this is only the beginning.

I am super stoked for the season now and can't wait for cheddar. Its only like 13 weeks too. Sunday i felt real ruff in the morning and i didn't really have anything for breakfast. I had harder motos and got a 4th, 6th then a 5th out of seven riders. i packet up and watched the rest of the riders. the brits did wicked and we came home with loads of trophies. We have already spoke about next year as the track and venue was mint. The track was probably the best i have ever rode. There are loads of photos flying around facebook so take a look. Wazup. Been in work yesterday college tomorrow and off for a week. Part of which i am going to the Belgium euro which I am really looking forward to. Just got back from the Preston track, its great to finally ride my bike after all the snow we have had. I got back home and had a large parcel waiting for me in the kitchen. One of my sponsors, Wreckage Clothing have sent me my first batch of clothes. I'm really pleased with them. There great quality and the designs look sick in real life. Feeling relaxed and looking forward to 2010. The prospect of not being able to ride my bike hit me quite hard when i got back from Coniston. As all the Uk know we got hit with bad snow Monday nite and as of yet its still not thawed-Its grim up north. I have been off the past week and made a start on some training. Most included sledging. Belgium euro next week which im really looking forward to. I have never raced outside England so I can't wait.

I got my helmet back yesterday from my mate Dody who has sprayed it for me, he has worked with the elements and has done a mint job, I will get some pics up soon. Some pics of me sledging to. Hopefully the snow melts soon and i can get on my bike.

Hi people its 2010, wicked. Big news this year already. As some of you know i have been working hard to try and get some sponsorship for the 2010 season. Well the hard work payed off, i am still in talks with some other companies but so far i am really pleased to announce that i have secured three sponsors so far. Winter Season

I have actually had a few comments about me not putting any posts on my website which was nice. reason is i haven't really got anything to talk about. I have hung the race bike up you could say. Don't panic I'm not quiting or anything like that. I just had a real hectics first year racing and i want to take a back seat from racing over the festive season. Its also my birthday in a couple of weeks so its not the best time of year to get onto training. I am still riding as ever, muddy on the mtb over new year in the lakes and i got a road bike so I'm getting that sauted for new year.

I will get back racing after Christmas and I'm also going to the Belgium euro in January which i am really looking forward to, also new kit and the likes. Been really busy with work and re arranging my room with a taller desk for DJing. I have put a pic on off my winter set up-it's a bit blured, My wheels of the SE with atomblab spokes dxr hubs and halo tornado rims. I have also put some tioga comp-x tyres, white pedals and a eclat plastic seat (no wet seat :-). I will try and keep you updated with what I'm up to but racing wise not much till after Christmas.

Preston Club Race RD:1

Chill time I think. its been a long season and i now have a bit more of and idea about the UK Bmx scene. I want to use Winter to do some training, chill out after a hectic summer and get my head on the right way for next season.

I couldn't help the fact that when i turned up to Preston on Sunday that it just felt like another big race. I raced 16-29 cruiser and i was the oldest and most experienced rider. I won all the motos and the final. It was good to be at the front and i tried a load of different lines to what i would usually. I want to race the faster guys in 30-39 or 16+. It will be super hard to come home with a winning trophy at the end of the year but it should pay off next season.

A big congratulations has got to go to the Preston club for all there achievements this year. the track is excellent for the young kids wanting to progress in the sport, as can be seen by the Brooks brother's. The track was in great condition and the racing was 'to the line' in nearly all of the classes. I am really looking forward to the regional in just over a weeks time. British Championships 2009, Cheddar

To start, what an event. It was my first time to Cheddar and i was very impressed with the whole venue. We all went down this time and stayed in a huge tent. We got there late Friday nite, put the tent up and hit the bar. I was a bit worse for wear on the Saturday.

I came to the Brits knowing i had never raced the track and that my category would be stacked. To be fair it wasn't to bad, there where 30 riders but i did make a lot of mistakes. In my motos i think i got a 4th,5th and a 7th. i missed out by a few points but really mess up my first moto and i could have had a second, i smashed the gate from gate 8 and could,nt catch up. I did the event purely for the experience and want to really go at it proper next year. The North won best region and Manchester won best national. Go Northerners!!!

I cant find any photos but this link to a video i found on bmx talk will give you a good overview of the weekend. As you know i hate putting posts with no photos so i have tried to keep if brief. the Brits was ace and i will defo be going next year.

Nationals finale Rs 9+10 Bournemouth

Well the 2009 National Championship series is over and i was sad to see it go. Bournemouth was a great way to end the series with a few new faces and a great atmosphere. The only real bad thing i have to say about the weekend was that the wind and the triple into the second straight caught a few people out, and with us spectating there it was not a great thing to see. A big shout out to all the guys who got hurt and a full and speedy recovery to them all.

i did a bit of practice on the Friday and i wasn't really feeling it i wanted top 8 at the beginning of the year and my crashes and a broken shoulder later i didn't think it was going to happen. I came into Saturday ranked number 10 and my first 2 motos where shocking i came pritty much last in them. I then got a grip and dug in for the third moto and got a 2nd it still wasn't enough for the A-final but i won the B-final and i was kinda happy. Sunday morning i had kinda worked out that i must be ranked 8th with the guys i beat in the B-Final. I can't really remember what i got in my motos but i really gave it the beans and got into the A final i new i would keep my 8th if i got into the A. I made a few mistakes in the Final but still came a way with a 7th which turned out to give me the 7th in the overall which iwas super stoked about. I loved racing the Nationals this year, i got a 6th, 7th and an 8th in A-finals. Four b-final wins and crash in the other three finals. Also broken rear hub, cracked frame, two new rims, riped kit and scratched helmet. So to come away with a 7th i was chuft to say the least. I will defo be doing the series next year and i am really looking forward to the brits in 2 weeks time.

North Region RD8/Club Championships Hartlepool

First race out on my New bike and there was a few sketchy moments on it that i kept quite but apart from that i feel good on it. Sunday was the North region Club Championships with the final regional round included. I new coming into the race that with the season i have had and points difference that i probebly couldn't take the overall so i went out there and enjoyed it. the drive there and back was a killer but well worth it for the track. I got a 2ND and Three 3RDS behind Andy and Twan. I enjoyed the day and it was good for jo to come up to one of the regionals. Turns out i will be riding 2.4 at the brits which im stoked about after injures and missing Bradford for coaching. Big Treck next weekend for the nationals Finale at Bournemouth. then the Brits at Cheddar which i can't wait for. Thanks to Abi for the photos check her link -->

New Bike!!!

As from my last post I broke my bike :-(. Well just the frame but when i worked out i would have to spend around £400 for a new frame i was a bit gutted. A full bike was better on the cards. the bike i have got is off one of my mates and its the Alans Bmx Custom 25TH Anniversary Supercross. The image above is Mike Pardon with it. Manchester Bmx Track (16-29 Crusier Moto)

Finally got some photos sorted for the blog, you know i don't like posting without images. A lot has happened in the past few weeks since the Manchester regional.

The Manchester national was tyring and needed loads of work from the club. Firstly a bit thanks to everyone who was involved Rooster, Neil, Pete, Abi, and Roger to name a few. I think every club member got stuck in at some point. This lead to what i think was the best national of the year.

I had a crash both days but manged a B-final win on the Saturday and my best place yet with a 6Th in the A-final. The were cons to the good result, two crashes with the first giving my front wheel a battering. A big thanks to Pete Phillips for

sauting it out between the motos. Another bummer was after the final on Sunday i was super stoked with a 6Th and then found a crack in my head tube of my frame. With no real cash and The final Regional the week after it didn't look good.

As some of you know i have been doing some coaching and during the motos and finals on the Sunday Sam Foakes came down and had organised a few races from the rides that attend the Manchester youth club. North Region RD7 Manchester

Little late i know but i have been waiting for images, still none as yet but i do have the 16-29 Final video.

Sunday was RD6 of the regionals and i was really looking forward to this one as its my home track. I won there in winter but with a stacked gate and A-and B-Final (i have never seen this in a 16-29 regional before) it sure was going to be hard to collect the points. I did well in my motos having easy lines and getting 3 2nds. In the Main I had a good gate and there where around four of us even into the first corner i slowly crept up and look Wan on the last corner to take 3rd. I was super chuft with Mark Madox 1st and John on his MTB in second. It was good to get some national practice in for next week. I have however never raced on the track in the dry. the track was riding fast and come next Sunday it should be great. Calm before the storm

hi people, been a relatively nice week for me quite balanced and got some good bike time. No race this weekend but i did race the club race at Manchester however. it was raining real bad but did the race anyway. It was good fun but super sketchy on the corners. I was real lucky in the first moto as i hit the gate and blew my hands off the bars just managing to catch then with my fourarms and my knee on the stem, i catched back up and hot 3rd i won the second moto and then had a big off going for second in the last corner I hit Tim and we both went down the everyone else just ran me over my back was sore for a good few days. i just cruised the final and didn't feel to good.

I did some overtime Saturday morning and then went watching the latest Harry Potter at nite, it was a good film the guy who plays Ron is legend. I'm up at 5am in the morning as I am going to Tatton flower show where with college we have been preparing for our own display for a few months, i will be helping set up tomorrow and then be on the stall on Wednesday.

Its the Manchester Regional next weekend and we are also holding the next two rounds of the Nationals. I found a video on youtube with Liam Phillips and Marcus Bloomfield at the track so take a look. It is also the World Championships in Australia next weekend, good luck to all who are going from the UK shame about Shinaze not going. Hi guys sorry about all the confusion and secrecy on the last post i know i only posted it on like Friday or something but i will tell you what i have been up to this week anyway.

First of all I have to give a big shout out to all the British riders who went to the Euro champs at weekend representing the UK, I heard you all did a class job well done. In particular Dan white, Abbie Taylor and of course Wigans own E5 KYLE EVANS-yea kyle. big respect mate you deserve it.

I was of work Thursday and Friday which was sweet. Just having the two days was good for me.

Thursday-I got up super late and watched the Tour De France, cky 4 and went to Warrington skate park for an hour or so. After doing the usual x-ups, taps, tables, 360s and tailwip attempts i was super bored and just carved round the bowls at race speed- it was good fun and i was dead afterwards. I went to the Manchester Track at about three to help the one and only World bmx flatland champion/British cycling coach Sam Folks-on my first coaching exercise. Rooster was also down helping out his northern Masters rival Tim Williams AKA Vinegar Tim. It was good fun and i really enjoyed it, the demonstrations i did were strange, doing the track backwards and pulling out some silly moves. Even though I'm not pro its real good to see the younger kids looking up to you like they do when they can see and talk to a real racer as they called me, i don't think they feel as scared to have a go on the track. Loads of the kids are up for the race this week which will be good. More riders means a longer rest break between motos for me :-).

Friday-I was back on the bike Friday afternoon at Preston where i was just chilling with raz until former World Champion Shaun Calvert turned up and some sprints were going down. Same again came home watched some of the tour and chilled.

Saturday-I was dead I chilled with Jo and watched a full stage of the Tour which was fer boring to be fair. Ice Ace 2 was cool though, that Sid is awesome.

Sunday-Still feeling a bit rough but me, Raz and my brother Tim jumped into Suttys van and we hit the Chester play track which is pretty rad. It was super windy but we sessioned there all afternoon and never got bored. Best leave out Wrexham the second corner has fights with shoulders.

That was my week really im in the process of trying to get some half days off work to do some coaching so i hope that works out. I really want to race again to, can't wait for the Manchester National us northerners guna show em how its done. Val and Cal and Jake should get some good results, me to hopefully. Been back to work today and i am super tired. early nite for me I think. Anyway have a good week everyone. Catch ya racing....

North Region RD 6 Gold Coast

I will start with I know i should tell you what I have been doing up to now but its quite late in the week so i will just tell you about Lytham (kinda in past tense).

Gold Coast wast class apart from the five minute por down it was real fun, racing was fast with loads of carnage on the corners. A huge turnout and me getting 2ND in the final was all good. Got two days off this week so plan on getting on the bike a bit. i will get another post on this week hers a few pics from Sunday by Abi (Happy Birthday from yesterday). All Work No Play-well a bit of play

hi guys, its been a bit grim on the riding front since my last post. I went to Manchester for gates on Thursday and have just been to Coppull for an hour ( was to hot to do anything really).

I have had loads of work to do for collage and i decided the best thing to do was to get stuck in this weekend so i had a few days not riding and got the majority of my assignments done i only have two more left for next week. Hopefully when there done i can spend all my spare time riding and getting my coaching qualification sauted.

I have ordered some new pads this week there 661 kyle strait ones and there in the GB colours and ev!!! I have the 661 tomcats at the minute and they have been ace knee pads these are meant to be the same type of design but more minimal and comfortable- which suits me. These where from Long term friends chain reaction cycles. I can't remember weather i mentioned about my new stem and seat the other week but i also bought a Thompson stem and eclat seat+post. the stem i had was a profile XL hip stem that was a whopping 65m reach. That had to go.

After my head in the books weekend i did manage t get out and enjoy the sun on Sunday afternoon where i went to my cousins birthday. he has a trampoline in the back garden and i spent ages on it. I was creased when i finished to say the least. i did manage to knee myself in the face which now looks like the Mrs had give

me a right hook. Anyway it was good fun

and if anyone wants to buy me a trampoline then feel free :-).

The playlist is having issues with copyright at the moment so i will try and get a new song playing, but to be fair it looks like i may have to find another program to play my tunes!!!!!

Busy Week

Hi people its been a real busy week and this is the first time i have really sat down and chilled. Monday I went to Coppull with my uncle and he took some cool photos of me on the track. the lighting was a bit pants but they turned out good.

Thursday was the 2ND round of the Manchester club race's. they mixed the Cruisers with masters it was good fun and i got 4 seconds. It was hard work with the motos so close together. Good fun though even if i did just collapse in the car park on Kyles bike, sorry mate i still really don't know what happened.

Friday i went to the new house of one of my best mates and buddy's from school, him and his girlfriend have just had a baby boy. I'm dead chuffed for him and all the best for the future mate-you will both make great parents.

Weekend was the Bradford regional and i didn't go because i was on a coaching course which was real good. I got the impression of forums and word of mouth that it was a bit gash to say the least. The weather was suppose to be good though which is always a bonus. Just been to Manchester for a bit the guy there thought i was a lier and took £2.50 off me for a ride round (no gates or anything) it was good fun. No racing this week just loads of coursework for college and a potter at the trails i think. I also bought the new Enter Shikari album this week and the song playing is of that record. The pics are some that my uncle took.

North Region RD 4 Yeadon, Leeds

Yeadon track yesterday, it was my first time at Yeadon and its first Regional since 2006. the track was ace in practice and great to play on, racing saw some quick times and major carnage on the first turn. I think i got two seconds and two thirds. I was super chuft with how i managed to come back in the final, even if two guys did go down in the last corner. The weather was class and everyone was in the summer mood. Mr whippy made about a milli on the car park and the tops and sun cream were on for sure. I have no pics as yet and i hate putting a post on with no pics but what can you do. The best photos of the day must go to Kev Malone-(click for album)

I have just come back from Coppull where my uncle has took some photos of me which i am going to use on the site. he took the header shot on the site now but it is on my mtb which ain't really appropriate considering i now race bmx. thanks to my uncle Dale for going out of his way to take some shots. I can safely say after six National rounds i have definitely got the racing bug and am loving it. Peterborough was my most successful weekend since i have started racing. With a win on the Saturday in the B-Final and on the Sunday was stoked to make the A-Final. it was a tough race and i was 7th until the last corner until fellow Northerner Twan took me on the inside. It was definitely good to ride my bike and not have my shoulder creasing me every five meters. It still has its niggles and looks awful but once i got into my run it didn't bother me. What did bother me was when i started getting out of breath my ribs were really sharp in my side. (trails hurts).

me and Jo stayed in a Hotel which was a good call for Jo because the weather was pretty grim and i am glad we didn't have to put up the smart price tent. Practice Friday nite was gooood and i really got a good feel for the track, shame the same can't be said for Saturday morning practice. It rained all nite and the track was shocking. After practice i went back to the car and was a bit gutted about the tack, came to the motos and the track was dry and running fast, the club had done something and it was amazing in the time they had. The same can be said for Sunday they really worked there ball off (the men that is, don't think women have balls like). It rained and rained for most of the motos yet the track was never really any slower. I did get a face full of Water though in my second moto of Wan on the first straight.

I did have lots more to talk about but it has eluded me, a few things i will mention is Sutty took another big fall in the first moto smashing his elbow, i got a pic of me in the new fastlane and a again a big thanks to the North East Crew for making us feel welcome once again and Jo for being dead supportive. well done Jake, Val, Adam, Kyle and also Cal for his two seconds. You will have to sign my fastlane mag. Leeds on Sunday and no nationals till August where we are up North-get in. Come on Manchester!!! thanks to Abi Taylor for the pics and the one in fastlane. I have piced a song this week from a band i went watching early last year. I got free tickets and it was in a little venue and was great because they easy could have filled the appolo or somthing. Loved it check the out-30 seconds to mars.

Back On It

Reet bloggers, been going steady this week just riding trails and enjoying the sun. Yes i know sun its mint. Early this week got a new hub sauted by Suttys hoops so got a mint DXR on there now. tried that out on Tuesday at Preston and had a good laugh racing, some crazy moves going down and some pedal on berm action. talking of pedals i think my left one is bent but it should be reet. When to a few trail spots yesterday having another mint crash on my shoulder, didn't hurt to much just winded me. My ribs are dead sore today.
Peterborough at weekend and, were staying in a hotel this time and not camping so might get a good nites sleep. Nothing else really to report just I am starting to feel more normal now and hopefully my fitness will start tpo improve. Got a proper party tune on this week it was on at weekend when a few of us hit wigan for a nite out.it was pretty rad, coming home when the sun is coming up is always good-pro training haha. Anyway have a good one. roll on National round 5.

Things are slowly starting to come together again after 4 weeks not on a bike i have started to feel more like a social bmx'er than a bmx racer. I went back to work after my shoulder injury and was determined to get back on the bike for the next national. Therefore i saved myself until Saturday morning practice of RD 3 at Burnham-On-Sea. It took a draining 5 hours to get there on the Friday, and only 3 back on the Monday. Burnham itself was mint and the track was class to. The club has definitely spent a lot of money on the track and facilities around it.

Anyway to racing. I went this weekend as just a meas to get a few points and get back on my bike. I just rolled around really in my motos and got used to the track and racing again. I did give it a bit in the B-final and saw myself trailing OJ in second out of the first corner. i flowed the second straight well and thought 2nd would be great. Although in the second corner i went to high and Dixon got a mint move on the inside-which was fair enough. Some guy (still don't quite know who it was) came right on the inside hugging the white line and t-boned Carl who went down and i went straight into the back of him. I trapped my leg in my bike and couldn't feel my toes which was pretty scary. After the bike was off i rolled to the line and my shoulder was ok but i scratched all my brand new helmet which i was a bit pissed about to say the least.

Sunday was better i start jumping things and felt a bit more comfortable on the track. I was though real beat and had no real energy after practice. I really had to try in my motos and my third felt the best. I then got told i had a run off For the A-final so i shot to the pens and died in the sun for a bit before going on the gate with Lee East. I was beat and with no real excuses i just didn't have it Lee Snapped me out of the gate and cut me off, from the i wernt passing and just rolled the last two straights (nearly braking my neck on the hose pipe!!!). I had a good rest before my B-final i think i nearly fell asleep at one point. I got on the gate and new i could at least get a 2nd again. I got a good gate and had a good line down the first straight. I race jumped the tipple and clipped it and had to pedal for the next double when my driver went. I went to jump it anyway and smashed the lander with my back wheel. So my rear wheel was rubbing on my brake and i just used all my energy to keep up but i was just stopping.

Later on i found out that my rear axle was bent and i have had a new hub built up by SUTTYS HOOPS (seelink). So overall it was mint to get back on the bike and ride again but my racing wasn't really racing anyone. Good times tho got a mint new rear hub and a 661 Helmet. more riding this week i think now i can, and Peter borough next weekend. My song this week is a cool tune, even though i didn't like college.

Hi guys no update last week, i havent got round to it and didnt realy have much to say. What i can say is my shoulder is feeling a lot better, been back to work this week and has been ok really. Not been back on the bike yet which is really anoying me to say the least. Its been 3 weeks now and its the next national next weekend so im not very well prepared but, i am going never the less.

This week i have been spending some time with Adam 'Guesty' Guest. He asked me a few week ago to get MasterEdit Productions back out and create a small video section for his leaving assembly at school. I have just literally finished it. after shooting at three locations over the space of a week we got some ace shots. Adam has been one of the best people to work with he has a trend of getting the shot first time. I have known Adam for a while and this year he has been sponsored by Urbanair, Fox Racing which is a pretty rad deal. He well deserves it and his video section shows why they took him on, good look to him in the season and big thanks to his Dad for the Monster, well chuft. Injury Update

Not been the best week for me really, after spending most of the day on Facebook and ebay then have a shady nites sleep its not really great. It has just been over a week since i binned it at wrexham and busted my shoulder. After the first day the swelling had come well down put i had no movement in it what so ever-it was uber painful. The pain is no where near as bad now and i do have more movement in it.

BUT. and is a big ass booty but. The bone that has been dislodged is still just floating around and is not really showing any sign of settling any time soon. I wet t, thospital on Thu which was a big waste of time really. My appointment was at 10:35 and I was waiting for about 15Min's before I was called into an observation room. I waited there for another 10 Min's and then a Doc came in and introduced himself. He said ' I have looked at your X-ray (from last Sunday) and i am going to book you and appointment to see the Shoulder surgeon. You may have to have surgery to put the bone back he will have a better idea than me'. That was about it I went home and have to wait till Thu to see the surgeon.

So a bit bleak over here really. Until Thu i have loads of things on ebay to sell, college work and i just bought Flo Rida and The Prodigy's new albums-One of which is on the blog this week. Hopefully things will look up this week and i can get back on the bike soon, still desperate to ride Burnam, but i will see. Send healing vibes this way and thanks for eveyone's support on Facebook and that, and Jo for being so patient. L8rs Guys. The Tattoo ain't real its a fake sleeve to make the family scared hehe.

Bad Times

Yea after going down hard on my shoulder and around 2 hours in A&E we came to the conclusion that i had dislodged my acromion. I didn't know what is was ether its basically a small bone in the shoulder which connects the clavicle(collar bone) and the main part of the shoulder via ligaments. It has been pushed out of place and is higher than the collar bone.

It started with me hitting the second straight at Wrexham play track at ok speed but by the time i got to the last jump i didn't really have enough speed to clear it. I hit it anyway, came short and hit the lander with my front wheel. This catapulted me over the bars and with the most of the brunt hitting my left shoulder. after noticing a large lump on my shoulder we drove back to Wigan A&E and i had an x-ray, bandaged up with the four large grazes on my arm and back and given a sling for two weeks until i have to go back and be assessed again. Abi was on hand taking some pics and i asked her to get me one of my shoulder. Maybe i will get in the Fastlane mag-wink wink. Once i got home i tried to chill out but getting comfortable is imposible. I then went on bmx talk and found out that Ben Moss had broken his wrist shortly after we had left so that's him out for a while to. I will keep you all updated on how I'm getting on. North Regional RD 2 Crewe

Just got the Photographs from Brian At Bripics.com so its time for an up date. I went to the Crewe regional with Sutty on Sunday it was a really hot day mint for us bmxers, the warm weather is starting to show with late nites and more riding time-MINT!!

i got four seconds with OJ in the number one spot. They weren't to taxing i was just glad to be back racing a track i had been to before and could have a bit of fun my races where fairly straight forward really I was close on the line a few times for my place but its all good. No real hype just general race day. I did get the impression that a lot of people thought the track was a bit gnarly and really hard, which it was. i did struggle but once you start jumping things its a real ace track. I did no jumping in racing it just didn't work and even then my manualing was shocking i had snapped a nipple in my front wheel and i was quite concerned about that. Still i creased every lander on the track with it and really smashed my wrist on the last straight in the final. I have also uploaded a video from bmxtalk of the 16-29 cruiser Final where i finished 2nd

There was some cool racing in the payback and Cruiser classes with Roger from British cycling deciding to abandon his bike on the fourth straight and Browne coming back to the bmx racing scene. I have also seen a few videos on youtube and bmx talk or a certain guy doing back flips over the triple on the first straight. He turned up and did one over the pro jump. Completely dialed too. Now i have tried them into foam and they are hard and very scary but this guy was class big respect to him. No racing this weekend so I think a few of us are going to hit wrexham play track. New song is an old favorite by a band i am sure you will all know-check it out.

Nationals RD 1+2 Derby

Last Friday me and Jo went to my first National of the year and ever!! I was not disappointed i had a mint weekend and am really looking forward to rest of the National rounds. Lauren Smith and the rest of Derby Bmx Club did an awesome job of organising the event. There was every thing from live music, demonstrations and some on the edge racing. I Crashed in the B-final on the Saturday and came 2ND to last, although i won the B-final on the Sunday which i was super stoked about. I think i did enjoy watching the rest of the racing more than me racing myself. The atmos was great and everyone was really friendly and good to get along with. There were no real bad points to the whole weekend. The only things i can think of is the fact that our tent broke and i had to do a scout special and rig it up. It rained a bit and some clown tried braking in on the Sunday nite. Apart from that it was RAD!!!!

There where a loads of great riders to look out for one included the one and only Dale Holmes. He came back to his hometown to compete from his sunny digs in California. It was mint to watch him do his stuff. Others were Our Olympics representative Liam Philips and Free Agent elite rider Kelvin Batey. They were battling it out all weekend. it was good to see Lian getting a win on the Sunday after many people giving him some stick about the Olympics. He was closely followed in third by Mid Lancs own Cal Strickland who for the first time wore a full race kit-it was strange, no jeans this weekend. Junior men also saw my good friend Kyle Evans, boy is that guy fast his overtaking was unbelievable and some tips where taken on the Sunday nite.

I am just getting ready to go to Manchester for a meal its my mums birthday tomorrow so that should be fun. Sunday is the next round of the North Regionals at Crewe so i will be heading up there. I do still have some number plates left to sell so it anyone needs one do come and see me.

No real news this week, I have just been chilling and trying to focus for the Nationals. Five days now until derby and i have give the tent a wipe and dragged the sleeping bag out for the trip on Friday. Me and My girlfriend are looking forward to it. I went to the trails after college today and rode with Jake, Kyle and Adam. There looking forward to it, if kyle can put out a performance like he did last weekend there should be some awesome racing in his class this year. Jake is a bit gutted about not being able to race but it is defiantly for the best. It should give him a chance to heal properly and get fit for Burnham.

After reading the first issue of fastlane i went on there website and found an article about Renthal making Bmx bars again or 'angis' for the youths. Now these made some a few years back and they had a brace as cross the top which i was told wern't much cop. However this time they are purely renthal bars and as they make some of the best motocross bars they can't be that bad. they are also doing some MTB bars to i hear which will be good to look out for. North Region Summer Series RD 1

Hello people, a bit Late i know but i have been waiting for my computer to be sorted in my room. It is all done with help from Capitalpc. Its a small shop in Ashton if you ever have any problems with your desktop or laptop take it to there. I should have the tinternet working on it shortly and i can stop using this laptop of my dads.

Anyway On Sunday i went to Mid Lancs for the first Summer Regional. The day was great with mint weather and loads of riders. I also wore my new Troy Lee Kit, which i did have the inevitable crash in practice and scuffed the pants. The Pants are also a bit big and i need to get that sorted. I even went to the extreme of pulling the back of them up over a jump. I found the racing really quick and was supper tired at the end off the day. I managed 2 fourths a third and a first in the third moto. Maca basically just rolled the last straight after killing us all day, i just gave it the beans and managed to pass him-hey i weren't being nice. Rory had an awesome crash and Brian Greenwood managed to get a super shot of it. I spoke to Rory on the Monday nite and he is mending well.

I was also presented with my Mid Lancs winter series trophy. This was presented to me by the one and only Jacob Roberts. National Series #1 and British#1 he is currently just come out of a full leg cast, I hope he can get on the bike soon i know it is just killing him not being able to ride his bike.

Finally I have been listening to Zane Lowe on Radio One. It is a two hour long show which he plays new music from loads of different genres. The track i have on at the minute was one of the songs played at a caravel in Brazil. He is a dead laidback bloke and writes some super songs-go check him out.

North Region Winter series #1

Yes I am super stoked to say the least. i have been working hard over winter and have now won the overalls for every event i have entered. it is only the winter series and at club and regional level but as I have never won anything in racing above novice before i was over the moon to get my trophy on Sunday at Crewe. It was a close points race, me beating Oj by only three points. I have to say a big up to the guy who has made some cracking racing this winter and no doubt will continue with the level of racing in our class at a regional level and at nationals. Us Norther riders are gonna show these Southerners how its done, haha. Anyway thanks to all the clubs who have held the events and all the work of North Region Bmx. Summer Nights

Hello people, as i mentioned last week i have had a week off work and used the last of my winter Holidays. I was lucky to have great weather all week which i was super stoked about. I did something bike orientated everyday. I will give you a rundown of my week, First i have posted a link of an old video of my local trails 'Waterworkx'. (click here)

Monday
I spent Monday digging at Waterworkx (local trails) and it was super hot. I managed to get the little left set fun to ride adding a little double next to the last jump to make another optional line.

Tuesday
I got the wheel barrow on Monday nite and on tuesday Andy had a day off work and we both went down the trails again for a bit off digging, Nath also showed up and lent a hand.

Wednesday
Wednesday was a cloudy start but i looked at the BBC weather and saw that it would clear up in the afternoon so i headed down to the new revamped Crewe track. I must say they have done a class job, its super smooth with the whole track crammed with big steep and lippy jumps. It is very euro and the local riders where definitely showing there skills. The Crewe lot will be riders to look out for this year.

Thursday
Sutty was off Thu-Sunday so we thought we would go to Wrexham play track on the Thursday but his van conked out with no real explanation so the AA towed him to Warrington and i followed him up and gave him a lift back, hope he gets it sauted like. i went riding the trails afterwards, another really warm day

Friday
The 20th was my Bro's Birthday and we had family round at nite for a few drinks, Also went the trails in the afternoon.

Saturday
I Just chilled with Jo on satdi, Jo wanted to go to Wigan for a mothers day prezi. We also went for a jog in the afternoon.

Sunday
I went to the trails with Tim and Sutty. We rode the middle set which has a mint last jump. At nite we went watching a comedian-Andy Parsons. His is on the 'Mock The Week' show and was real funny. he is on tour at the moment so you should check him out.

I have some fmf race plates for sale. I have them in Both mini and Pro sizes. They are double sided with a free fmf sticker and the proper velcro ties no faffing with zip ties. They come with ether a red or yellow border. I only have the Pro ones in red however. The cost of both the pro and mini plates are just £4.00 each. I am also offering the red sticky backing for the mini plates for cruiser riders for an extra £1.00. You can then cut this to what ever shape u like. I only have a limited supply and once they are gone, well there gone. Hartlepool Final Winter Regional

Summer is closing in with a super hot day today and yesterdays race at Hartlepool having mint conditions. The final race of the North Region Winter Series was held yesterday at the downhill track of North East Bmx Club in Hartlepool. This was one race this year i was not to fussed about going to it is around a three hour drive. However Sutty offered me a lift and me Sutty Peebs and his girlfriend Lou all made the trip up to the track splitting diesel costs. I had never been to the track before and after about three goes round i had to start jumping things, the whole day i never really got used to the track and still couldn't tell you what the jumps are after the second straight. I won the first Moto with no issues really OJ came off in front of me and i just cruised passed him i came second in the second and won the final moto. I just got a second in the final after getting a good gate i was stuck behind one of the 40+ riders and just couldn't find the opportunity to pass, i managed to get him on the last corner but by then i was in no position to challenge the lead. Many of the other races where ace to watch the old school and 30-39 cruiser was mint. the track was good over all but from a racing point of view tarmac or smoother berms would make this an absolute cracker of a track. I'm not to sure on how the points work but i believe i came at second in the series after missing one round. I am pretty pleased about it but would have liked to have had longer to get to know the Hartlepool track. Bellow are some pics of the old school class. i now have a week of work so i Have been down to the local trails digging today and i am hoping to get some work done there this week. Finally my song of the week is a tune by Moby which happens to be in a film i saw a few weeks ago (The Bourne Identity). Its a class film and a class song, the intro is real quality.

Number One

Its a Wednesday and i know i am supposed to update my blog on a sunday but i have been way laid and was super tired Sunday nite and didn't do anything. I am also struggling to remember what i even did last week. Anyhow i do know i got my new wheels off Sutty and put them to good use on Thursday nite with my first time out going a lot faster and I jumped the triple on the first straight at Manchester. Big thanks to Roy 'Sutty' Sutton for my new wheels and sauteing my race bike out for the coming season. My bike is all done now and i will be posting some pics soon.
I took a trip to Preston on Sunday for the final round of the Preston Pirates winter series, the weather was miserable to start as usual and They have had to cancel three of the rounds already. However the rain stayed off for racing and after a bad crash in the first moto i was pleased to come away with the win in the other two moto's. I was super luck that ask came down in the final and i just cruised passed him, his arm looked propper painful afterwards. After Sunday I came away with the Cruiser overall which I was super chuffed about. After only starting to race this winter to come away with the Preston winter#1 and as I have been told the Mid lancs #1 I was super stoked.

It is the final round of the Winter regionals this Sunday at Hartlepool and it is a long drive. I was not going to go as it is just a Winter regional but as I found out the other day a win would give me the winter regional #1 which i am very exited about. Sutty has kindly offered me a lift so i am hoping to set off early Sunday morning and make the trip up there, I hear the track is rad so i am really looking forward to it. I have e-mailed Brian for some pics of Sunday and i will put these up when i get them. Check out the link for the full Album 'bripics'. MId Lancs Final Winter Round

The Coppul winter rounds are over, going off the weather today however i don't think summer is on its way soon. I got to Coppul early on Sunday I really wanted to ride my bike, turns out i was probably to early as no one was there. i went to my auntie and uncles who live just round the corner, had a brew and got back to the track for about 10:30. I had a really fun day especially stying behind after racing and having a mess around.

As far as the racing was concerned i did well i killed the first moto and when i say killed i mean killed my legs i just thought i would go as fast as i could and see how i held up. I won the first moto and chased Juan for the next to. Once reaching the A final i round out that i had already on the winter overall which i was well chuffed about i have never won over all before, i did crash in the final and rolled in at 8th place but i have hopefully kept my overall.
After racing a few of us stayed behind and pottered about on the track i jumped a few and felt really into it after riding for hours, it takes me ages to feel loose on the bike and i was probably riding faster after racing. My new rims came on Monday and Roy 'Suttys Hoops' Sutton building them as we speak, well as i type. Probs goin to the new crew track tomorrow nite see what all the fuss is about, i have never been and it it said to be sweeeeet. I am waiting on some pics and i will post the as i get them, my song of the week is by Rhianna its a real nice song and is kinda ironic that her idiot of a boyfriend Chris Brown beat her just as she released this song, listen to the lyrics and you will understand. Back To The Grind Stone

My two weeks are up and i am back to work after going to college today- i am off Friday however. Being off all week means i have spent a lot of time on the bike since Leeds regional. Wednesday I me and Andy jumped in with Sutty and went to the Wrexham play track. Oggy was there doing a coaching session with the kids and was good enough to lets us goin in, so chers for that mate. The track was ace and i did spend a lot of time out of breath, i will definitely be going back there it was a great day. I went to gates on Thursday nite and went to PC World on Saturday with Jo, she now has a nice looking Laptop for uni.

Sunday was a mint days riding first i went to Preston in the morning and met up with Karl, Andy, Raz, Shane, Jordan, Kevi and CJ. We had a good session there then headed down to Coppull for about half 12. I did a few gates and mooching around the track until i raced karl down the last straight and what turned out to be a complete disintegration of the spring in my rear hub. I sent the next few hours just pumping the track and borrowing Andy's new bike. Its a nice bike at that its the 25th alans anniversary cruiser. awesome bike to ride. OJ came down and took some cool pics. raz even after persistent trying got a double on the last straight smooth as ken. (Ken is a very smooth guy). i got home just before dark and once i had showered and had my tea it was late and i was beat up, so got an early nite and a good sleep. I have stripped my hub and took it round to what seems to be my mechanic, 'Sutty'. He is a boffin when it comes to wheels and he is going to saut me out with a new spring. I am going to put up a link so if you ever need a custom wheel build he is the man to call. 'Suttys Hoops' will fix you up. no more news really, it was the Bafta's the other night and i am going to give an award to MGMT for this weeks song off the week. Leeds Regional

Hello, its been a great end to the week with another week off work to follow. After me going to Manchester on Thursday and me not being able to move my right arm just being able to get back on my bike was a cool moment. I spent all Friday drinking protein shakes and all Saturday being will the on i love on that special day, i had a great day just chilling n mooching 4 random things to buy. oh yer i also drunk lots of protein shakes on Saturday to.

I woke up this morning with my arm feeling somewhat repaired. i made the drive up to Leeds with a huge fog section on the motorway. It was the first time i had been to a track so far away from home, i usually just would not drive that far. I was very impressed with the track it was a little different and all the jumps where different in shape and size- The first burm being somewhat of a velodrome. The last straight was probably be the highlight off the track it just seemed to go on for ever when you had done a flying lap, it really took it out of you.
Jacob had a bad crash, i saw him go down from the start hill and we all feared the worst as the ambulance was called and he was down for some time. Turns out he is ok just a little shook up and no doubt sore and bruised in the morning. I However had a clean sweep winning all of the three motos and winning the final after a swap and change off positions on the first three straights. It was a great day and i loved the track, i will defiantly be going back. A big thanks to all who took part 23 races in all if i recall. One more regional left which is the long drive to hartlepool, not sure about that one i hear its an awesome track so it might be worth a shout. A few weeks till then anyway. Preston Changes

Hi Guys been a busy week this week really. didn't get out on the bike all last week due to the weather being British- Manchester was full off snow for gates on Thursday nite. I didn't go on bmx talk this week so turned up at Preston on Sunday pretty early, ready to race. It was called off, turns out that's they had done some major graftin on the Saturday and changed a few jumps. The first jump on the second straight is now a double and should make the racing better for the younger guys. The last to table tops are now doubles and are really cool jumps, weird but cool. They held gates for most off the morning.

After an hour or so there me, Andy and Raz went down to Waterworkx to do some digging for summer, Adam and Kyle turned up and also got stuck in. it should once again be a great place to ride over summer. I am now off for two weeks so have been doing odd jobs round the house and even went sledging on Rivi hill on Monday which was fun. Yesterday i took a trip to the gym and did some training with Sutty and Raz. Today i am sore a bit to say the leased. hopefully going to get back on the bike tomorrow and go to Manchester gates. Leeds regional on Sunday and its one of the many uk Bmx tracks i have not yet ridden so i will let you know how that goes on Sunday. I could only find a 33second preview of it but its an ace track. Its by a southern rapper called Skinnyman and i first found the song on a earthed dvd on the sam hill section. Cold!!!!

Hi fellow bloggers, its 8 ish and i am just going to update my blog before falling asleep. I got my 09 race kit This week full Troy lee GP Air Pants, Jersey and Air Gloves. Just waiting on my helmet, that is also going to be a Troy Lee. I have wanted a Troy Lee helmet for years and i can finally afford one. I will post some pics when i get it all sauted.

Its been the penultimate round of the Coppul winter cub series. I will be glad when the summer ones come around because today was bitterly cold. Some good racing however i got a 3rd, 2nd and a 1st in the moto's. The first moto i lost grip on my left foot and pumped the 3rd jump with one foot on. In the third moto I was chuffed to finally beat the Sutty even if he realized at the last minute his goggles where still on his helmet. The apprentice will beat the Master Properly sooner or later-or maybe not. I got a good gate and managed to keep Rory off. I had 3rd pick in the A Final after Raz racing himself in the B Final. We all found it quite amusing-he looked like he was guna come off at one point. I had an ok gate keeping hold of 3rd but creased the third jump and i couldn't challenge for second. A good days racing as usual from Mid Lancs, bitterly cold tho. This week should see some snow i am told, which could make work fun. Finally my car tuneage has been pretty much the same as last week just listening to Lady GaGa with Jo. I have however found a groovy tune by Pluxus, yeah i have never heard of them before either but this song is off the new Ford Fiesta advert. You know the car that just looks like the latest Corsa. It takes about 55 seconds to kick in but you will know it when it gets there. Enjoy till next week......

Coppul Coaching

Not really much to comment on this week, went to coppul on Sunday as there was no race on. Dylan and Tim gave me a few tips on my gate and overall applying some of the techniques i was getting quicker. I am getting really comfortable with my cruiser now. Going to try and get my new race kit sauted this week not fully sure yet on what i want, i have a bit of cash to get me a good kit. Other news i also joined facebook last nite so go add me as a Friend. Turns out everyone has it i i should get it or my life is empty or something. So i have it now, see what all the fuss is about. i am in college now should be doing some work on chainsaws but i thought i would keep my fans happy first. Going for dinner now and listen to my record of the week. I picked this song purely because she is a bit mad and different, her other song 'just dance' is also awesome and i have put this on my playlist to. I think I may have to purchase the album to. Stripping my bars and forks on my park bike at the moment so i will post some pics of that when its done.

Open Race

Hiya Guys sorry about no blog update last week, I'm sure you all must have had a sheltered Sunday without your dose of Matt's blog-or maybe not. its been a busy week i got my new bike, and had my windows tinted on my car, looks pimp. Just finished putting some blue neon's in the foot wells.
As i missed last week i will give u a round up of last weekend. It was the second club race at Preston and it was wet and sloppy. I was ready for binning it after practice my race pants where soaked and i was really full of mud. I stayed anyway and after the second moto no one really cared about the mud anymore it couldn't get any worse type thing. i did good in the final nearly smashing into Jacob on the last jump, he was close for first and un clipped three times on the last straight. i was glad to get home though and have my Sunday roast. Mint.

As for today, well it was my second time on my new bike and my first race on it. It is mint, josh Hanlon who had it before me won a few races on it and i had a clean sweep today in open cruiser. I was over the moon to win all my motos and get into the final. Me and Rory where at it in every race. The A final came i would have been happy just to beat Rory again he has an awesome gate. I was third into the second berm with Nigel smith behind me and Rory and Russ in front. Rory pushed Russ up and nearly off the track leaving the worlds biggest gap i just gave it the beans then chasing Rory i managed to just get past him on the last straight. respect to him he had a great day getting second in all of his. he definitely has the best gate in the cruiser classes, get yer snap on. It was a great days racing and loved every minute of it. Thanks to mid lancs and to all the riders who turned up. I want to give a big shout out to Sutty for going out of his way to saut me out with a race winning bike. The results from today speak for them self. Pics to follow...
A week off next week no races, i thing there is talk of me playing squash with my dad. I thing its just walli with a small tennis ball and funny shaped rackets. i think u have to wear shades or summat to. Anyway, till next week bye thanks for reading. Happy New Year!!!

Happy new year everyone. I am going to make sure 2009 is a good one-well try. I had a great Christmas and spending a week in the lakes over the new year. I got back just after dinner on Saturday, cleaned my bike and hit the club race at mid lancs on Sunday. It was a good day with the bad weather holding off. Maybe a few cold fingers and toes but quite pleasant overall, there was a short spell of snow at one point.

Yesterday gave me chance to try my Sam Hill 5:10 shoes which i got for Christmas, boy where they grippy. After a few laps i got used to the idea of shoes that would stick to my pedals. After having etnies with no soul for about six months it took some getting used to. They really helped on the last corner, with my other shoes i would blow off the pedals and loose all my speed down the last straight. The mince pies, Xmas pud and two weeks off the bike definitely showed, my gates where shocking and only had one good one all day. i did manage to firsts tho, one only just piping OJ on the line. It could have gone ether way really.

Back to work tomorrow anyway. I still have my 09 race bike to look forward to and I have three weeks holiday left till April so its not to bad. Jo also bought me a PSP so will be on that during motos this year me thinks. Anyway happy new year everyone, Preston club race on Sunday looking forward to it. Pie Bmx The MOVIE!!!!!

Today i finished the Pie Bmx film. There is only around five mins of footage on it but it has took hours working on it. It should give you a look into what They have been up to over Summer. Main section is on the recent Alans/fourdown rider Sam Bates. Sam is a great mate of minute and an awesome rider, check out Alans street blog for another video of Sam and His skillz. Santa Comes To Mid Lancs

That's rite children, old farther Christmas himself came to coppul for the Christmas race yesterday. It was a cold and frosty morning, and when i turned up the track was like concrete and very fast. as it frost and ice started to thaw the mud started to clog your face and the goggles came out. The cruiser class was mixed with 17+ which was a bit different. In my motos i got to 3rds and a second if I remember. Ether way i managed to get through to the A final and didn't push it as much as i could in the first half of the track and was over took on the second berm. I tried to fight to the front on the last straight but was getting nowhere. The added problem that a sod of mud flicked of Nigel's back wheel and i was in lots of pain for the last straight. Even with my goggles on. It took me a while but i got it out with a wash off water.

This past few weeks I have also been working on the 'Pie BMX' video, after some more work tonite it is nearly finished, i will keep you posted and i will be putting the final cut on the Pie BMX website www.myspace.com/piebmx. The film will only be around five minutes long but its a good taster. some great stuff of Sam Bates who is now sponsored by Fourdown, alans and S&M. Birthday

Yesterday saw my 19th Birthday and after now recovering from another week of illness. Today i feel better and am hoping to get back on the bike tomorrow. Today i loaded the car up for a trip to Manchester for practice but i didn't feel 100% and the weather was shocking. I decided to leave it and rest for tonite. I spent the nite editing some footage from the Pie Bmx guys, and am now in the process of finishing the film. hope fully it will be done in a few weeks.

For my birthday my girlfriend got me the final chapter of the MTB earthed series, by Alex Rankin. It was ace to. I also took a trip to Alan's on Saturday and got some new shoes which my mum and dad gave me the money for my B-day. I got the new DC Chase Hawk ones, real comfy and look rad. Going to Mid Lancs on Sunday hopefully, not raced last weekend which was weird but a good rest. I still hit Preston on Sunday even tho it was real cold. Had a bad crash over cooking a manual and landed flat on my back in a puddle. anyway going to go to bed shattered, check out my new 'song of the week'-a MUST download song.

Good in the Bad

Well this week has been a strange one, Loads of things have happened since my hellish weekend last week. It started with me going out on my bike on Monday even tho i still felt a bit ruff, a can of red bull and i where sound. Me and my brother became members of Manchester Bmx Club. I go there more than any other track so i decided to join the club. Saturday nite Pie Bmx and the Wigan lads went to Blackpool skate park for a nite session. I had a good time on my 20inch doing some tech tricks. Tims bike died soon after doing the spine and CJ dropped in after a little push from sutty.

Sunday saw me getting up after seven hours sleep, heading back to Suttys to load my bike in the van for round four of the Winter Regionals at Manchester. The weather was shocking and i decided to stay out in the rain during practice to try and keep warm. I just got wet and my feet and hands stayed soaked after that and I got third in the first moto with my hand blowing of the bars twice being so cold. After that I decided to jump up and down a lot like a clown to keep warm and get my head on it. i then pulled out two wins which i was well stoked about. my first win since moving to expert. i had lane eight in the final and just couldnt quite pip OJ who had an awesome race. I left Manchester with blocks of ice on my feet, tired and blue fingers. i was over all really stoked with a win and can chill out a bit for my birthday.

Slap In The Chops

Had a brilliant week apart from spending most of the weekend in bed with that 24 hour illness. i had my tea Saturday nite and as soon as X-factor came on i was sick-he he. I don't think it was the TV tho but i kept chucking up until the early hours of Sunday morning. I was there for in no fit state for riding Sunday and spent most of Sunday in bed. i did manage to take the dog for a walk round the park where she thought it would be good to try and grab a black bird off a tree branch 6 foot above her-it was quite amusing. Been to college today and not which was ok and have done some mint sprints after tea so should be ok this week. Blackpool Saturday nite to. looking forward to it. L8rs

Wigan's Winter

Winter is certainly here with some wet and cold weather. I have just been chilling out this week really. i spent all bonfire nite using some collected wood to, instead of taking to a bomi make a start gate that i could practice on. Lets just say that it works and i had some great fun on it Saturday afternoon after buying a chain from the one bike shop i never visit. Even though only being round the corner-Ashton Cycles. After snapping my chain twice in one nite. I took at trip to see Phil and get a chain, it worked great and did me perfect for yesterday.

Yesterday was the first round of Preston's winter club series and they don't call them 'winter' series for nothing. The morning looked promising with a slightly damp track and clear Sky's. However as soon as Mr Barber got on the mic for the first moto the heavens opened, and they did not stop.The wind picked up also and the 2nd and 4th straght was horific everyone got soaked. The racing However was ace with some close finished. I managed a 3rd in the final after having the three motos and running straight into the final. I was quite tired to say the least. it was good racing but i think everyone was glad to rap it up and go home for a nice warm shower. Thanks to all the Preston guys for a good days racing.

Finally, just been doing some sprints with Tim, Tom Raz and Jacob. It was good fun, Timaaaaay as he is now known overtook a learner driver and captured an escaping dog. Going to take it relatively easy this week and get ready for Manchester Winter Regional. Laters

Mid Lancs Winter rd:2

Today me and my brother Tim went to round two of the mid Lancs winter series. It was a great afternoon of racing and the bonfire was huge. Tim had an awesome final really putting the effort in and even grabbing himself a second trophy. With today being only his second ever race he is really improving. I managed to make it into the A final with last pick on the gate. I had an ok start but was nearly pushed off the track on the first jump after being forced to have gate one. after getting two 4ths and one 3rd in the moto's i managed a 5th, i think it was in the final. A good days racing, looking forward to fancy dress next month.

North Winter Regional rd:3 Gold Coast

Wet!!!. Yes today was the third round of the North winter Regionals. Which was at Gold Coast in Lytham. The track was wet, the weather was poor and there was a huge dam after the end of the last jump. Although this did not dampen the spirits because the race was awesome and saw some fast racing from all ages.

I managed to forget my helmet and Twarn was nice enough to lend me a club one which was mint. I got a 2nd in the final which i was more than pleased with. Razy and OJ had some heated moments that was very fun to watch. Overall though a great day and brilliant racing. Hope the weather holds up for crew.
